Great Swing Golf evolved into being circa 1999, and was started and continues to be operated by Gavin Hopkins, our resident PGA Fellow and Golf Professional. Our core focus is the provision of professional golf tuition and related services, quality new and used golf equipment and the operation of international golf tours and travel packages.
We operate our golf instruction and golf schools largely out of Switzerland, Spain and South Africa, however, have provided tuition and supplied services and golf equipment throughout Europe, and our golf tours and golf travel packages are fully international.

Gavin Hopkins – Golf Professional PGA Switzerland, PGA South Africa
Gavin Hopkins has been a member of the Professional Golf Association since he joined the PGA of South Africa in 1978, serving his apprenticeship at Randpark Golf Club in Johannesburg. He attained full membership in 1986 and served as Director of Instruction of the PGA of SA from then until 1994. He also served as Trustee of the South African Golf Development Trust from 1990 – 1994 and Golf Director of the MTN Golf Development Academy at Houghton Golf Club from 1996 to 1999. Gavin enjoyed AAA PGA member status from 2000 until 2012, when he was awarded Fellow of the PGA status.
Gavin has played golf throughout the world and on several continents, including some of the most prestigious and sought-after golf courses and golf resorts in countries such as Austria, England, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and France in Europe, as well as many states in the USA and, naturally, all the best courses South Africa.
Gavin hosted upward of a hundred golf tour groups in the past ten years, and continue to do so with enthusiasm and dedication to their guests and students as well as to the game of golf, constantly on the lookout for new and exciting golfing destinations!
